Join Dame Joanna Lumley DBE FRGS for the Annual Kids for Kids Candlelit Christmas Concert on Thursday 4th December 2025!
Beloved actress and Kids for Kids’ Patron Dame Joanna Lumley DBE FRGS will headline this year’s Kids for Kids Candlelit Christmas Concert, bringing her iconic voice and heartfelt presence to a magical evening in support of children suffering in Darfur.
The crisis in Darfur has reached devastating levels. Hunger is widespread, children are severely malnourished, and outbreaks of cholera, malaria, and measles are making an already desperate situation even worse. The UN has called Darfur “the world’s worst humanitarian crisis” – yet it remains largely ignored. Kids for Kids is the only organisation reaching remote villages that no one else can.
This year’s concert, now in its 24th year, will raise urgently needed funds for Emergency Food and Aid to help children trapped by conflict. Every ticket sold will make a real difference – providing life-saving nutrition through Kids Kitchen Kits (including lentils, groundnuts, and cooking oil), along with seeds, medicine, and veterinary supplies.
Held in the candlelit beauty of St Peter's Church, Eaton Square, the concert marks the start of the festive season in spectacular style. And with Dame Joanna Lumley DBE FRGS joining us to deliver a special reading, this promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with hope, music, and the true spirit of Christmas.

The evening begins with enchanting performances from the Junior and Senior Choirs of Queen’s Gate School, founded in 1891, accompanied by pianist Mitra Alice Tham. British Diplomat Alastair King-Smith will be our host for the night, and dedicated Patron, Lord Cope PC, will give a reading. Highlights include soprano Bibi Heal in a special performance conducted by Stephen Barlow, moving harp solos by Lesley Magee, and brass fanfares from Thames Fanfare Brass, led by Roy Bilham.
The historic St Peter’s Church, nearly 200 years old, with its stunning Ionic columns, golden apse, and magnificent Henry Willis organ, will be aglow with hundreds of candles – the perfect setting for an evening of festive music and reflection.
During the concert, guests can purchase Kids for Kids’ unique Christmas Gift Certificates, which support children in Darfur by gifting Goats, Donkeys, Kids Kitchen Kits, and more – ideal for anyone wanting to give a meaningful gift this Christmas.
The concert will begin at 19.00 and be followed by mulled wine and mince pies – included in the ticket price.
